Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said that the Civil Services play a predominant role in implementing the government’s plans and policies at the grassroots level. Addressing the Civil Services Day in New Delhi on Tuesday, Mr Radhakrishnan commended civil servants as the true implementers of government policies, and said that their dedication has been instrumental in the achievements of the government. The Vice President also said that plans can be made in the capital Delhi, but fruitful results in remote villages come only when they are implemented in their true sense. He urged civil servants to ensure that their work reaches the remotest corners, transforms lives, addresses grievances, and empowers citizens, strengthening the values of equality, dignity, and justice. The Vice President also encouraged civil servants to embrace emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Blockchain. Mr Radhakrishnan further expressed satisfaction at the increasing participation of women in civil services. He added that women are playing a leading role in development, supported by initiatives such as Lakhpati Didis and Namo Drone Didis. On the occasion, he also highlighted key achievements of the government, including nearly 25 crore people being lifted out of poverty, the construction of over 4 crore houses for the poor, and the development of border villages as vibrant communities.
