Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announces plans to develop Hyderabad as major high-speed rail hub

Union Railway and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced plans to develop Hyderabad as a major high-speed rail hub, with proposed bullet train corridors linking the city to Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru.Speaking at an industry event in Hyderabad, he said the high-speed rail network will significantly reduce travel time and strengthen connectivity among South India’s major economic centres.The Minister also highlighted India’s growing electronics and semiconductor sectors, saying the country has adopted an AI-as-a-Service model and that Telangana is playing a key role in electronics manufacturing. He said semiconductor design tools have been introduced in 315 universities to build a strong domestic chip ecosystem.Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the Centre has earmarked five trillion rupees for bullet train projects and is modernising 42 railway stations in Telangana, including Secunderabad and Nampally. He also called on the IT industry to expand its presence in tier-2 cities such as Warangal and Karimnagar to support the vision of a developed India by 2047.
