Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Indian community in New Zealand is a vital pillar of the growing partnership between the two countries.Addressing the Indian diaspora at a community event in Auckland, Mr Modi said that India-New Zealand relations are built on shared memories, enduring friendship, common values and a commitment to a brighter future.Mr Modi added that, like New Zealand’s tradition of looking towards new horizons, both countries have an open sea of opportunities before them and are committed to taking the partnership to greater heights. He said, from Auckland to Wellington and from Christchurch to Queenstown, the Indian community has contributed immensely to strengthening bilateral ties.He thanked New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and members of the New Zealand Government for their presence, describing it as a reflection of the strong bipartisan support for India-New Zealand relations.The Prime Minister said that after four decades, an Indian Prime Minister has visited New Zealand and conveyed the greetings of 1.4 billion Indians to the Indian diaspora.Speaking on the occasion, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon highlighted the growing strategic and economic partnership between the two nations. He said that the signing of the New Zealand-India Free Trade Agreement has opened access to a market of 1.4 billion people for Kiwi exporters while creating new opportunities for Indian businesses in New Zealand.The New Zealand Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, received a warm welcome from the audience as he praised India’s growing global stature, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and the outstanding contribution of the Indian community to New Zealand’s development. He described India as a key partner and reaffirmed his commitment to taking bilateral ties to new heights.More than Ten Thousands of members of the Indian community have turned up for the event, creating a vibrant atmosphere with chants, cultural performances and enthusiastic celebrations.
