In Assam, the Rashtriya Poshan Maah activities have formally started in the state today. The Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma inaugurated the programme in Guwahati.
On this occasion, Ms. Brahma emphasised to plant vegetables and fruits at anganwadi centres. The Minister said, as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, the Social Welfare department is doing various activities under Poshan Maah.
Ms. Brahma emphasized to adopt best practices for the benefit of the women and child health. Our Correspondent reports that various activities are being organized across the state under the Poshan Maah.
AIR correspondent reports,the Rashtriya Poshan Maah activities have begun in Assam with the primary focus on the improvement of women and child health.
The Poshan Abhiyan has covered nearly 37 lakh beneficiaries in the state. Emphasis is being given on setting up a nutri garden with all the locally available vegetables and fruits at ICDS centre, government schools and buildings.
Several departments including Panchayat, Agriculture and Education extend support in setting up nutri gardens. Various competitions, digital panchayat webinars will also be organized during Poshan Maah.
