Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today virtually addressed the 60th Annual Convention of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, SIAM. Mr Javadekar spoke on reviving demand in the Automobile sector. He said, government is working with all stakeholders on ways and means to boost demand.
The Minister informed that a scrappage policy is likely to come soon and the Champion Export Scheme is also on the anvil. He expressed happiness on the industry’s overwhelming support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Mr Javadekar congratulated Auto Industry saying they have done a commendable job towards migrating to BS-VI norms four years in advance and are finding ways to overcome the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic.
