In Assam, the State Health Department is to start a massive awareness campaign against COVID-19. Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told newspersons in Guwahati today that NCC and NSS members will be engaged in the awareness drive. He said that the order of the Gauhati High Court to be followed strictly.
The Gauhati High Court ordered Assam Police yesterday to implement guidelines of the Health Department which said that those not wearing face cover should be fined.
The Minister appealed to people to follow social distancing and wear face masks in public places. There are 27 thousand 303 active cases in Assam so far.
