As per the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) forensic report findings on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput as per which no traces of organic poison have been found in the actor’s body. However, the panel has not ruled out the possibility of homicide.
The panel also listed lapses in the Cooper Hospital autopsy report. As per the findings, important details such as the time of death were not mentioned. There was also not enough light in the room where the autopsy was conducted, the AIIMS panel says.
The time of death is very important in an autopsy report and approximate time of death was also not mentioned, Dr Sanjeev Bagai said. Meanwhile, the dean of Cooper Hospital said that he doesn’t want to discuss anything about this.
However, it is likely that the case may now proceed from an abetment to suicide angle under IPC Section 306. Though, any further conclusion can be added at a later date as further analysis needs to be done. The CBI investigation is in the final stage and AIIMS report is not contrary to the CBI probe. Sources say that no one has been given clean-chit.
Later today, the Bombay High Court will hear the bail plea of Sushant’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty today. She has been lodged in the Byculla jail after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested her for procuring drugs through her brother Showik and supplying them to Sushant.
Rhea Chakraborty and Showik have been booked by the NCB under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The probe into drugs angle of the Sushant death case led the bureau to the discovery of several “linkages” or drug supply networks, an NCB official said. The NCB is probing the drugs case related to Rajput’s death as well as an alleged nexus between Bollywood and drug peddlers.
