Karan Johar’s 2019 ‘drug party’ under scanner: NCB takes congnisance of Manjinder Singh Sirsa’s complaint

In what can spell fresh trouble for Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and many other Bollywood-A listers, former Delhi MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has filed a complaint with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) appealing to launch a probe into an alleged ‘drug party’ reportedly hosted by Johar in 2019. The complaint was forwarded to NCB Director General Rakesh Asthana.

The NCB has asked its unit in Mumbai to look into the matter. However, no criminal case has been filed in connection with Sirsa’s complaint. The apex drug law enforcement agency will send the video to a forensic lab to check its authenticity. If the video appears to be genuine, the NCB will move forward in the case.

Sirsa has claimed that he had filed a complaint regarding the alleged ‘drug party’ with the Mumbai Police on August 1, 2019, but it didn’t take any action. The SAD leader claimed that if the Mumbai Police had initiated action, Sushant Singh Rajput’s life could have been saved.

The video in question features Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Zoya Akhtar and many many others.

Karan Johar ‘the main culprit’ of Bollywood movie mafia: Kangana Ranaut

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has numerous times attacked Karan Johar for allegedly advocating nepotism in the Hindi film industry, recently termed the head of Dharma Productions as the “the main culprit” of the Bollywood movie mafia.

“Karan Johar the main culprit of movie mafia! @PMOIndia even after ruining so many lives and careers he is roaming free no action taken against him, is there any hope for us? After all is settled he and his gang of hyenas will come for me,” Kangana had tweeted earlier this month.

Notably after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the national award-winning actress had claimed that drugs use is common in Bollywood parties. She claimed that if blood tests on Hindi film personalities are conducted, many “shocking revelations will happen”.

“If narcotics Control Bureau enters Bullywood, many A-listers will be behind bars,” she tweeted.

As part of its investigations into the drugs angle in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the NCB has detained four more drug peddlers. The NCB has so far arrested 18 persons, including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, SSR’s manager Samuel Miranda and domestic help Dipesh Sawant.
