National Highway projects worth Rs. 32,383 crore stuck in Telangana: Minister Reddy

National Highway projects worth Rs. 32,383 crores are stuck in Telangana. Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and DoNER G Kishan Reddy wrote to the Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekar Rao in this regard, highlighting the apathy on the part of the government. The minister said it was due to the requisite land acquisition not happening in the state, that the projects are not moving.

11 highway projects of 750 km

Reddy said that to complete the required land acquisition for the 11 national highway projects of 750 kilometres length, approximately 4,332 hectares of land is required at an estimated cost of Rs. 32,383 crore, however only 284 hectares of land has been handed over to the NHAI by the state government.

The NH163G of the Nagpur Vijayawada Corridor that has approximately 275 Kilometres in the state of Telangana has also been a big casualty of the laxity in the land acquisition.
