Karnataka has reported more recoveries than the new COVID cases for the third consecutive day yesterday. In all, 9,289 patients were discharged after recovery and 5,872 new COVID-19 cases were reported. Eighty eight COVID patients lost their lives and the total fatalities have risen to 10,696.
Karnataka Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar in a tweet said that the state conducted 1,08,241 COVID tests across the 155 labs in a single day yesterday. So far the state conducted 69,52,835 tests with a positivity rate of 5.42 per cent. At present, 1,00,440 active patients are taking treatment at various hospitals in the state among them 947 are in ICU.
Earlier, speaking to media persons in Mysuru, he said, extensive measures are taken to ensure that the 10 days Dasara festivities happen without spreading the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will restarts its operation to Puduchery from tomorrow after a gap of seven months. The service will be operated from Bengaluru to Puducherry keeping in view of the density of the passengers. Passengers can book their tickets through online. It is mandatory for all the passengers to wear mask.
