In Odisha, educational institutions will remain closed till 30th November. In a notification issued yesterday, the state government has however allowed the School and Mass Education department to open classes from 9th to 12th after 15th of this month with necessary SOPs and in consultation with the stakeholders.
The fresh order comes in the wake of the revised guidelines of the union home ministry to open up more activities in the country. While all educational institutions in the state can continue teaching-learning activities through distance & digital mode, the state government has allowed the opening of higher educational institutions only for research scholars and PG students in science and technology streams requiring laboratory and experimental work. However, it is yet to take a call on the opening of religious places amid the pandemic. Meanwhile, with covid-19 recovery maintaining a sustained lead over fresh infection, the active caseload of the state has slid further down to 14905.
