The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Vishwa Hindi Divas 2019 in vibrant colours on Thursday at the school’s Jashanmal Auditorium. The program held under the Hindi Department was inaugurated by Chief Guest Sanjay Gupta ( Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India & President of Lions Club of Riffa) in the presence of ISB EC member-Academics Mohammad Khursheed Alam, EC member-Transport Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy and Vice Principals.
In his speech Chief Guest Sanjay Gupta highlighted the importance and contribution of Hindi language in different states and in different ways. He also highlighted how Hindi Language showed Indian culture in many ways. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts put in by the Indian School towards the celebrations of Vishwa Hindi Divas in a grand manner. He appreciated the programme conducted and presented by the school students.
Earlier the program started with the National Anthem of Bahrain and India and school prayer song followed by the lighting of lamp, the symbol of knowledge. Hindi Department HoD Baboo Khan welcomed the gathering. EC Member Mohammad Khursheed Alam in his speech said Hindi Language had lots of good quality to be the connecting language in India. Through this language any person can communicate in any part of India, a multilingual country. EC Member Moahammed Nayaz Ullah also addressed the gathering.At the end of the programme all Intra-school competition winners were awarded with certificates by the Chief Guest Sanjay Gupta.Apart from competitions there were lots of variety programs such as Hindi ‘JHANKI’ (Tableau) named ‘ Unity in Diversity’ with a theme ‘Value of Unity’. Hindi Songs, Patriotic Dances and Patriotic value-based Dances & Songs .
As part of the first phase of celebrations Inter-school Competitions were organised on 5th January in which Hand Writing Competition for Std. IV & V, Poem Recitation for Std. VI, Poster Making Competition for classes VII & VIII and Inter -school Hindi Solo Song for classes IX & X were held. The Asian School, The New Millennium School, Al Noor International School, The New Indian School, Bahrain Indian School, New Horizon School and Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School were the other CBSE schools which took part in the competitions and the Award Ceremony was held in the Indian Embassy.
