– In Bihar, 18 people lost their lives and eight others were injured in lightning and rain related incidents across the state during the last 24 hours.
The fatalities were reported from eight districts including Patna, Siwan, Bhojpur and Vaishali. The injured people are being treated in the local government hospital. The weathermen have forecast heavy rains in different parts of the state in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed three district magistrates of Gopalganj, East and West Champaran to remain on high and keep a special vigil. The move comes in the wake of heavy downpour in the catchment areas of Gandak river in Nepal in the last 24 hours.
