He said that today we have to pay special attention to processing in every field of food grains, fruits, vegetables and fisheries in every field of agriculture. For this, it is necessary that the farmers get modern storage facilities near their villages. The system to reach the processing plant from the farm will also have to be repaired.

Farmers should not be limited to growing wheat and rice

Now we have to extend the facility of Soil Health Card testing in the country. He said that most of the contribution towards research and development in agriculture is from the public sector. Now the time has come to increase private sector participation in it. We now have to give such options to the farmers, in which they should not be limited to growing wheat and rice.
After Corona, these coarse grains became famous as immunity boosters.
Emphasizing on coarse grains, Modi said that a large part of the agricultural land of the country is very useful for this. The demand for coarse grains was already very high in the world, now after Corona it has become very famous as an immunity booster. In this direction, encouraging the farmers is also a very big responsibility of the food industry. Apart from this, contract farming has been done in some form or the other for a long time. Our effort should be that contract farming should not be just a business. Rather, we should also fulfill our responsibility towards that land.
