UAE’s first astronaut Hazzaa AlMansoori has tweeted from space for the very first time since he lifted off from Baikonur, Kazakhstan.
In the tweet, Hazzaa also shared his first photo from space, taken from inside the International Space Station. “Captured aboard the ISS… my first photo of the Soyuz spacecraft.” Hazzaa wrote. The photo shows the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft above a sea of clouds. The photo captivated many Twitter users and it has since garnered over 5,000 retweets and 10,500 likes.
Earlier, the creative works of UAE youth made their appearance in space after the Emirati astronaut displayed them aboard the ISS during a 15-minute video call with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) on Sunday, September 29. He also said that he is reading ‘Qissati’, the latest book by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for inspiration during his spare time onboard the ISS.
