The Honorable High Court of Judicature at Madras [MHC – in short] had ordered that all temples under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department [HR&CE – in short], should ensure that all temples under their control should have TRUSTEES and they should process this seeking applications from Public at large;
Now the TN Government – filled with nonbelievers and Hindu Baiters and Haters, in TN alone[they have no qualms about visiting and worshipping Hindu Gods in other states of India, without blinking their eyelids – stated – “ Yes, Your Lordship-without fail, this will be implemented”. NOW THERE IS NOTHING TO BE SURPRISED HERE – AFTER ALL THEY HAVE OVER 40,000 TEMPLES [YES – you heard right – 40,000 plus temples of all sizes under their control].
Now why the Government of TN did not blink or fight – the reasons are simple:-
They can fill the positions with their TRUSTED CADRE;
What makes it interesting is that on an average depending on the earnings of the Temple – it is graded – small to medium to large and therefore the number of trustees required on an average is 3 to 5 per temple – or in other words they require approximately [let us go on an average of 3nos. – 5+3=8 divide this by 3 roughly works to 3 per temple irrespective of size and earnings, the total number required would be 40000^3 = 1, 20,000. Let us go further –
As per the directions of the Honorable MHC – it is must be transparent and through application made – their website does not allow you to download as it is under ‘maintenance’ – the applications must be made available through the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioners of the temples under their control – these people inform you that they have no stock of applications – all given and are waiting for more – if one pushes and/or uses influence he is politely informed to obtain a letter from the VATTA SEYALAALAR of DMK.
As authentic information comes – 75% of 1, 20,000 vacancies will be given to their loyalists and the balance 25% will be awarded to those who have the merits and norms as directed by the Court. The catch here is, apart from this norm they should be able to shell our 3L per person/Trustee position seeker per temple; 25% of 1, 20,000 is 30,000 personnel – or nearly Rs. 9,000,000,000.00 – now let us not forget not only these numbers – during the tenure – contracts/festivals/ other expenses all carry a cut and the percentage calculated is on the year to year basis.
This being the case now one can understand why there has been no objection and why the process has begun. That the Assistant Commissioner[s] says this- I am aware of it for people known approached the AC at Kapaleeswarar temples and was given the answer ad mentioned – that is when we did a little digging –
SO DO NOT EXPECT THE SLOGAN ‘FREE HINDU TEMPLES’ IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN TAMIL NADU THAT EASILY – it is the geese that lays golden eggs.
