Plenty is happening in Bihar politics. Amid murmurs of differences cropping up between alliance partners Janata Dal-United (JDU) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has made it clear that doors are closed for Nitish Kumar to return to the Mahagathbandhan or Grand Alliance.
Nitish Kumar called Lalu Yadav to enquire about his health after the RJD chief underwent an operation at a Mumbai hospital. Lalu’s son Tejashwi, who served as deputy CM in the Mahagathbandhan government, described Nitish’s call as a ‘late courtesy call’. He even took a dig at the Bihar CM for asking about Lalu’s well-being months after his hospitalisation.
“Nothing but a late courtesy call to enquire about his health as he underwent fistula operation on Sunday,” Tejashwi Yadav tweeted
“Surprisingly Nitish Ji got to know about his ill health after 4 months of hospitalisation. I hope he realises he being the last politician to enquire following BJP/NDA Ministers visiting him in hospital,” Yadav added.
Lalu Yadav, who has been sentenced to 14 years in jail in Fodder Scam cases, is currently out on bail.

Tejashwi had earlier claimed that Nitish Kumar was feeling “uncomfortable” in the BJP-led NDA. He, however, stressed that “the door is closed” for his return to the grand alliance.
Tejashwi, who is the Leader of Opposition is the Bihar Assembly, also rubbished suggestions by the leaders of the RJD’s ally Congress that Nitish Kumar’s return to the Mahagathbandhan could be considered if he chose to snap ties with the BJP.
“They are not authorised to take a decision in this regard,” Tejashwi told reporters.
“After Kumar ditched us last year and rejoined the NDA, he tried to sell the idea to the people of Bihar that he had the welfare of the state in mind and that with the NDA in power both at the Centre and in the state, Bihar would be equipped with a double engine that will speed up its development,” Tejashwi.
