In South Asian Games Indian men’s volleyball team has clinched gold defeating Pakistan in title clash at Kathmandu. In a thrilling final India crushed Pakistan by 3-1. India lost first set to Pakistan by 20-25. But Indian players bounced back and won second and third set by 25-15 and 25-17. There was neck to neck fight in the fourth set till the end. Both teams moving one by one point. Finally, India won by 29-27 and lifted the title.
In the women’s section, India will clash with host Nepal in a short while from now. India had defeated Nepal in the group stage but Nepali girls had given them a tough fight. Keeping in view the popularity of volleyball in Nepal and a huge number of supporters cheering up the home team during past matches the women’s final is also expected to be an exciting one.
