Several Union Ministers are visiting Jammu and Kashmir today as part of the Public Outreach Programme in the newly created Union Territory. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar is scheduled to visit Ramban district.
Moreover, other Union Ministers including Kiren Rijiju, Anurag Thakur, and Nitin Gadkari are also visiting. Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi kick started the valley leg of the programme today. He said, skill development will increase job opportunities for Kashmiri youth.
Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that central government is committed to inclusive development and corruption free accountability in the functioning of government machinery in Jammu & Kashmir.
He said the Central Government is working with full sincerity to ensure that the benefits of development reach the deserving masses adding that the Government is making all efforts to reach out to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to better understand their aspirations.
Addressing a public outreach programme at Harwan in Srinagar outskirts, the Minister said that the Centre’s outreach programme provides an opportunity for people to raise their demands and seek their resolution.
He said it is time for people to take benefit of development schemes and J&K should be part of developmental story of India. He added that central government is monitoring and ensuring that funds that are meant for developmental schemes reach to the grass root level.
The Minister said that to encourage youth to take different job-oriented courses, skill development courses are being imparted for minority communities. He said that setting up of institutions like AIIMS, ITIs and IIMs will provide a platform for the youth of the valley to compete with the best in business. He added this will also improve their chances of finding employment to a great extent after completion of their studies.
Talking about Haj quota this year, the Minister said they would try to accommodate all the Haj aspirants from Jammu & Kashmir adding that more than 2 lakh Haj aspirants go for Haj every year from India.
Naqvi e-inaugurated the 5×44 meter trussed Girder Bridge over River Jehlum at Malroo Srinagar outskirts which has been constructed at the cost of Rs 16.53 crore. He also e-inaugurated a mega 1223.69 sqm Forest Protection Force(FPF) office complex at Bemina in Srinagar which was constructed at a cost of Rs 6.62 crore. The Union Minister also laid e-foundation of High School Building at Dara Harwan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 97.01 lacs.
Later, the Minister heard various public deputations as a part of outreach programme launched by Central government. The Minister assured them that all their demands will be taken up on priority.
