President Droupadi Murmu to offer prayers at Danghati Temple in Mathura

President Droupadi Murmu will offer prayers at Danghati Temple in Goverdhan in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh on the third day of her visit to the state today. The President will also undertake the traditional Govardhan Parikrama before returning to Delhi. Goverdhan Hill has great religious significance as it is associated with Lord Krishna. The full circle of Govardhan is 21 kilometres, and the major sites, which come during the Parikarma, include Danghati Temple, Radha Kund, Shyam Kund, Kusum Sarovar, and Jatipura. The three-day visit of President Murmu to Uttar Pradesh began on Thursday with the darshan of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. After that, she offered prayers at Iskcon temple and the Prem Mandir in Vrindavan. The President also inaugurated the new Oncology Block of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, which is aimed at strengthening cancer care facilities in the region.
