PM Modi Stresses that GST Reforms Must Directly Benefit the Common Man

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the NDA government have provided a new model of good governance in the country and urged the BJP workers to ensure that the benefits of the new GST reforms reach the common citizens. Inaugurating the newly built Delhi BJP office at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in the national capital yesterday, Prime Minister said that in those states where the BJP is in Opposition, it must hold the government accountable to ensure that GST reductions are passed on to the public.

PM Modi further added that the NDA government has given the highest priority to the security of the country and its citizens and instilled a sense of confidence in a decisive battle against corruption by freeing the country from major scams.

He said, another strong aspect of good governance is that the focus of the government is on delivery and on increasing the savings of the common people. He said the government is prioritising both efficient service delivery and boosting the savings of ordinary citizens. He mentioned that before 2014, any income exceeding two lakh rupees was taxable, and today, individuals can earn up to 12 lakh rupees without paying any income tax.
