PM Modi Hails Ayushman Bharat rollout in West Bengal; says welfare of people of state is top priority

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the decisions of the first Cabinet Meeting under West Bengal’s newly elected Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that the welfare of the people of West Bengal is the top priority.

Mr Modi expressed happiness that the people of the state will have access to Ayushman Bharat, the world’s largest healthcare scheme that ensures top-quality and affordable healthcare.

The Prime Minister added that the double-engine Government will ensure seamless delivery of key Central schemes.

Several important decisions were taken in the first cabinet meeting held yesterday, after the formation of new government in West Bengal following recent assembly polls. Among the decisions include the transfer of land to the Border Security Force (BSF) within 45 days for erecting a fence along the Bangladesh border.

The state government also announced the implementation of the Centre’s flagship Ayushman Bharat health scheme and several other initiatives of Central government in the state.
