Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that newly upgraded highway between Prayagraj and Varanasi will help a lot to the devotees and tourists and further increase the development. He was speaking after dedicating to the nation the six-lane widening project of the Handia (Prayagraj) – Rajatalab (Varanasi) section of National Highway-19 in Varanasi this afternoon. The 73 Km stretch of the newly widened and six laned NH-19, made with a total outlay of 2447 crore rupees, will reduce the travel time between Prayagraj and Varanasi by one hour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said, poor people are benefited the most when infrastructure development takes place, as it creates lots of employment opportunities.
Mr Modi said, the image of Uttar Pradesh changed after new BJP government came to power in the State. The Prime Minister said, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as express State as it is now working on many Expressways.
Mr Modi said, the government is helping farmers and trying to increase their income by providing seeds, irrigation facilites, market and insurance cover to them.
Earlier, the Prime Minister reached his parliamentary constituency today to take part in the world famous Dev Deepawali festival in the evening.
