NDA in Andhra Pradesh allots three Rajya Sabha seats to TDP, one to Jana Sena Party

The NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh has decided to allot three of the four vacant Rajya Sabha seats to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and one seat to the Jana Sena Party. The decision was announced by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu after a meeting of NDA alliance partners held at his camp office in Amaravati the previous night. Mr Naidu said the decision on the Rajya Sabha seats was taken with the consent of all alliance partners. He added that the names of the candidates would be announced shortly.The meeting was attended by Jana Sena Party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav and Andhra Pradesh TDP president P. Srinivasa Rao, among other leaders. The meeting also discussed the preparations for public outreach programmes highlighting the performance of the NDA governments at the Centre and in the State. As part of the campaign, public meetings will be held in Tirupati on June 9, Amaravati on June 12 and Visakhapatnam on June 15. The programmes will focus on welfare, good governance and development initiatives undertaken by the government.
