Mulayam praising Modi a ploy to deflect corruption charges, says Amar Singh

Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh has criticised former Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for praising Modi in his speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Amar Singh said this could be a tactic to deflect allegations of corruption against the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.

Amar Singh said that it could be a ploy by Mulayam to create confusion thus ensuring Chandrakala and Rama Raman get away scot-free. These two IAS officers were holding important posts during the tenures of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati as chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh.

It may be recalled that the Enforcement Directorate had recently summoned Chandrakala in an alleged sand mining case.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, in his speech in the Lok Sabha, had wished that Narendra Modi return to power as prime minister.
