Indian equity benchmarks fluctuated between gains and losses in the opening trade, with S&P BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50 trading little changed at 36,764 and 10,886 respectively.
The broader market represented by the NSE Nifty 500 Index rose 0.2 percent.
The Indian rupee also fluctuated between gains and losses against the US dollar, trading little changed at 70.69 against the greenback.
