As the monsoon season is here, the Indian Railways announced the start of monsoon special trains. They notified that they would be running monsoon special trains on the Konkan route, with effect from June 10. The trains will run till October 31. Yesvantpur–Karwar (Train No. 16515) will come into effect today.
In addition, Indian Railways has begun special train services across various routes for the convenience of railway passengers during the holiday season and to meet travel demand.
The reason for the start of monsoon trains:
Tourists prefer to travel during the monsoon season, especially in the southern part of India. The western and eastern ghats are at their best during the monsoon. And during this time, many people plan their travel journeys. For the convenience of railway passengers during the holiday season, with a view to meeting the travel demand and clearing the extra rush of passengers, the railways start the monsoon trains.
The effect of the monsoon special train
The tourist industry’s growing importance as an economic engine and its potential as a development tool is undeniable. Not only does the tourist sector drive growth, but it also improves people’s lives by generating large-scale employment in a variety of fields. It promotes environmental protection, promotes a rich cultural heritage, and promotes international peace.
The advantages of tourism go beyond creating billions of dollars and hundreds of millions of jobs and business opportunities. The booming tourism industry helps to build infrastructures such as roads, parks, hospitals, schools and community areas.
Western & Eastern Ghats-
The Western Ghats is a majestic mountain range that runs through the Indian states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, covering an area of 1,60,000 square kilometers. This green belt that stretches alongside the Indian peninsula’s western coast is a biodiversity hotspot, ranking in the top ten in the world. And monsoon is the best time to visit and the Eastern Ghats are part of a larger mountain system extending from central India to the far south and running parallel to the east coast.
