The core group of 33 players reported at SAI Centre, Bengaluru on 13 March 2021, as the Indian hockey men’s team is gearing up for their FIH Pro League tie against Argentina.

The 18-day camp will conclude on 31 March 2021 before the team departs for the FIH Hockey Pro League against Argentina in Buenos Aires.
The Europe outing
Indian team in their maiden assignment for 2021, the squad led by PR Sreejesh secured a 6-1 win and 1-1 draw against Germany followed by a 1-1 draw and 3-2 win against Great Britain. India will resume their campaign on 11 April in the Hockey Pro League, when India will take on Olympic Champions Argentina in back-to-back away games.
FIH world ranking
Germany is currently on no. 4 in the FIH world ranking and the Europe tour has been a fruitful tour for the Indian team ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Indian team has played six matches in the FIH Hockey Pro League so far and is currently placed 5th on the points table behind table-toppers Belgium followed by the Netherlands at No.2, Australia at No.3, and Germany at No.4.
The probable core group in the camp
The Core Probable Group for the National Coaching Camp remains unchanged. It includes goalkeepers PR Sreejesh, Krishan B Pathak, and Suraj Karkera.
Defenders Birendra Lakra, Rupinder Pal Singh, Surender Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Kothajit Singh Khadangbam, Harmanpreet Singh, Gurinder Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, Dipsan Tirkey, Nilam Sanjeep Xess. Midfielders Manpreet Singh, Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Nilakanta Sharma, Sumit, Jaskaran Singh, Rajkumar Pal, Hardik Singh, and Vivek Sagar Prasad.
Forwards SV Sunil, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Upadhyay, Ramandeep Singh, Simranjeet Singh, Shamsher Singh, Gurjant Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Gursahibjit Singh, and Shilanand Lakra are other athletes who will be reporting for the National Coaching Camp.
