India continues to occupy top global position in Covid-19 recoveries

With around 66 lakh 63 thousand recoveries so far, India continues to occupy the top global position in terms of number of recovered Covid patients. The resultant positive effect is also seen in terms of sharp decline in number of active cases which currently stands at nearly 7 lakh 72 thousand. In the last 24 hours with nearly 66 thousand recoveries, only 10.2 per cent of the total reported cases in the country remain under hospitalisation or home isolation.

The Health Ministry has said that the Centre in close collaboration with the State and Union territory governments has adopted a graded strategy for COVID-19 management and public health response. It said, sustained efforts of TEST, TRACK, TRACE, TREAT and TECHNOLOGY is progressively yielding encouraging outcomes in the country’s fight against the pandemic.

India also continues to have one of the lowest deaths per million population globally. 22 States and Union territories have recorded lower fatality rates per million of the population when compared to the national average.
