IMD forecasts thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal today. According to IMD, a thunderstorm with lightning is very likely at isolated places over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh tomorrow. Similar conditions are expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal as well.

The weather body also predicted heatwave conditions over Konkan, Goa, Saurashtra and Kutch during the next two days. It also estimated hot and humid conditions at isolated pockets over Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe. The IMD further predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by three to four degrees Celsius over northwest and western parts of the country during the next four days. It also estimated a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by two to four degrees Celsius over Central and East India during the next five days.
