IMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms across Himachal, J&K, Uttarakhand and Punjab

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall today over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh are also expected to receive light rainfall and thunderstorms during the day. The Met Department also predicted dense fog conditions today in parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.  According to the weather agency, Northwest India will experience a gradual fall in minimum temperature by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next 2 days. Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR was registered in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 278 as of 1 PM today.
