The Nehru Zoological Park is all set to reopen on October 6. The zoo authorities have released a set of SOPs to ensure that Covid-19 infection does not spread among the visitors. They have informed that entry for those without a face mask and those who have high body temperature will not be permitted.
Visitors have also been advised to maintain six feet distance from each other while moving around in the zoo premises and at the ticket counters. The battery-operated vehicles will also be running with 50% occupancy to ensure social distancing norms.
A senior zoo official said, “We are going to erect sign boards informing Covid protocols at several locations. Guest house booking will not be allowed for the time being. Sanitization of the zoo and battery operated vehicles will be taken up twice every day.”
The authorities on Saturday encouraged visitors to book their tickets online on the zoo website www.nehruzoopark.in. Visitors have been advised against touching barricades and other surfaces to minimize the chances of spread and contamination and move along designated pathways.
They also pointed out that spitting in the premises is prohibited and punishable with a fine of Rs 1000 as per Section 484 of GHMC Act 1955.
