Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Bengaluru

Karnataka, heavy rain during the past two days has affected normal life in Bengaluru. Many municipal wards recorded over 100 mm rainfall. Roads submerged in many parts of South Bengaluru and water entered over 100 houses in low lying areas. Two wheelers and cars were seen floating in water in basements and under-bridge. Traffic was disrupted for hours on Mysuru road, Silk Board Junction, Bannerghatta road, Basavanagudi, R R Nagar among others. 

The Bruhat Bengaluru Managanagara Palike Commissioner Manjunatha Prasad has said that efforts are on to clear storm water drain and water flowing ducts to ease flooding. As per KSNDMC data, RR Nagar and Kengeri received the highest rainfall of 105.5 mm followed by many areas in the South Zone which received 95 mm rainfall.
