Thiruvananthapuram: Arun Balachandran has been removed from the Dream Kerala project. The action was taken after the name of Arun Balachandran came up in connection with the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case. The IT fellow was removed on the instructions of the Chief Minister.
Dream Kerala is a project launched by the State Government for expatriates returning from overseas in the wake of the spread of the coronavirus. Arun Balachandran was included in the committee as the IT Fellow of the Chief Minister.
Despite allegations related to the gold smuggling case, Arun Balachandran was widely criticized for allowing him to remain in the Dream Kerala project. Following this, it was directed to remove Arun Balachandran from the project immediately.
