Batman is one of the most popular superheroes in the world. The DC Comics character, known to fans as the ‘Caped Crusader’ or ‘The Dark Knight’, does not possess any superpower but his crime-fighting and detective abilities have inspired generations of comic book readers.
Batman fans are all over the world. Some dedicated ones even participate in cosplay competitions to show their admiration and love for the character.
Then there are fans who take the character so seriously that their antics make international headlines.
Last year, a man was pulled over by Canadian cops for driving a replica of a Batmobile in a batsuit. The entire incident was caught on camera and shared online. Needless to say, it went viral.
A few months later, a man dressed as Batman offered help to cops at a crime scene. the incident took place in Kelowna, British Columbia when a man jumped out of a replica Batmobile and approached the police at a crime scene. However, when he walked up to a group of officers and offered his services, he was turned away.
More recently, dramatic visuals showed a man dressed up as Batman arriving at a protest site in Philadelphia in almost the way seen in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
Deep into the global pandemic, the Dark Knight has made one more appearance.
A stranger disguised as Batman is often seen prowling the streets of Santiago, Chile delivering food to the homeless.
The man wearing a shiny batsuit complete with a coronavirus mask. He reportedly delivers dozens of plates of hot meals on a regular basis to homeless people throughout the capital of Chile.
“Look around you, see if you can dedicate a little time, a little food, a little shelter, a word sometimes of encouragement to those who need it,” said the man, who prefers to remain anonymous.
