Ayodhya Ram Temple To Witness First Historic Deepotsav, Set To Illuminate With 28 Lakh Lamps

The city of Lord Rama, Ayodhya, is all set to witness the grand Deepotsav, which is going to break all previous records for lighting diyas on the ghats of any river in the world. Speaking at an event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined that this Diwali is a historic one as Lord Shri Ram’s temple in Ayodhya will be lit up with thousands of diyas, making the celebrations unprecedented. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today urged all citizens to celebrate this occasion and light lamps in their houses tomorrow.

On the other hand, preparations are in full swing for the grand Deepotsav tomorrow in Ayodhya. A total of 28 lakh lamps have been arranged at the ghats of the holy Sarayu to set a new world record. The whole city is being cleaned and decorated for the main function tomorrow evening. There is a possibility of lighting more than 35 lakh lamps throughout Ayodhya.

Five control rooms have been set up on the ghats to deal with emergency situations. The ghats are being continuously cleaned by sanitation vehicles. Volunteers from Awadh University have decorated 256 lamps in each block of 16 x 16. A team of 30 people, led by a consultant from the Guinness World Records team and the counting committee members of the university, have already counted the lamps decorated on 55 ghats.

Preparations were also finalized by rehearsing the Shobha Yatra, which will take place on the Ram Path tomorrow. The Shobha Yatra features 18 tableaus based on the seven chapters of the Ramayana, depicting the entire life span of Lord Rama. Artists from home and abroad have arrived to perform cultural presentations. A rehearsal of the laser show was also conducted yesterday, while more than 1,100 priests performed the grand Sarayu Aarti, which will be part of the Deepotsav celebration tomorrow.
