In Assam, the Guwahati Police has arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in the recently conducted JEE fraud case. As per the case registered at Azara Police Station, a dummy candidate was appeared in the Entrance Examination taking money from the father of a candidate.
Guwahati Police Commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta said that the candidate and his father were arrested yesterday. Mr. Gupta said that another three accused, who were involved in the examination process, were also arrested. He said that police are trying to trace the dummy candidate. It was alleged that 15 to 20 lakh rupees were paid to the dummy candidate for appearing in the examination.
