A Delhi Court yesterday extended the police custody of two Pinjra Tod members, Natasha Narwal and Devangana Kalita, by two days in connection with an FIR registered for the February Jafarabad anti-CAA sit-in protest.
Their Police custody pertains to the alleged commission of offences under Sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 283, 332, 333, 323, 307, 302, 427, 120B, 34, 188 IPC, Sections 25, 27 of Arms Act and Section 3, 4 of the PDPP Act.
Narwal and Kalita were arrested by Crima Branch, Delhi Police shortly after they were granted bail in another FIR related to anti-CAA protests.
Rejecting the plea for 14 days remand, Duty Magistrate Ajeet Narayan had sent the two to two days’ police custody.
The two-day custody expired on May 26.
