Amid ongoing face-off with Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena, Kangana Ranaut met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

“I met Governor Koshyari and told him about the unjust treatment I have received. I hope justice will be given to me so that the faith of all citizens including young girls, is restored in the system. I am fortunate that the Governor listened to me like a daughter,” she said.

The meeting comes close on the heels of the escalating tussle between her and the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government over her recent remarks against Mumbai and its police.

Earlier on Friday, Koshyari had denied that he expressed resentment over the demolition drive at Ranaut’s bungalow.

Koshyari’s clarification came after PTI sources said that he had summoned Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s principal advisor Ajoy Mehta on Wednesday, when the demolition was carried out, and conveyed his displeasure.

The feud between the actress and Sena worsened after the city’s civic body, BMC demolished “illegal alterations” at her ‘Manikarnika Films Private Limited’ office at Pali Hill in Bandra West on Wednesday morning.

Criticising the demolition drive, Ranaut had alleged that she was being targeted because of her fight with the Maharashtra government and Shiv Sena.

Kangana-Sena bitter tiff

Ranaut also lashed out at the Maharashtra government and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for “misusing power”  to suppress her voice.

“Your father’s good deeds can give you wealth, but you have to earn respect, you will shut my mouth, but my voice will echo in a hundred millions after me, how many mouths will you shut? How many voices will you suppress? Till when you will run away from the truth, you are nothing but an example of dynasty,” she had tweeted.

Last week, the Bombay High Court ordered a stay on the demolition drive at Ranaut’s office and adjourned the hearing till September 22, giving a breather to the actress.

Ranaut came under sharp criticism and evoked sharp reactions from the Shiv Sena and its party leaders, especially Sanjay Raut after she said that she felt unsafe in Mumbai after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and that she feared Mumbai police more than “move mafias”.

She had also drawn flak from the Shiv Sena for her comments comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The 33-year-old actress was recently given Y+ security cover after she said that she would help expose Bollywood drugs nexus.
