The direct flight (AI 0940) to the Eastern Temple City was approved by the Government of India and is scheduled to fly from Bahrain to Bhubaneswar via Delhi at a reduced price of BD 126/- per ticket (Rs 26,000). The previous flight which repatriated 142 Odias from Bahrain was priced at BD 146 per person (Rs 30,000/-).
The Bahrain Odias who were consistently communicating with relevant ministerial authorities of India are now heaving a sigh of relief. Thanking Mahaprabhu Jagannatha for this positive outcome, Founder of Bahrain Odia Samaj, Dr. Arun Kumar Praharaj said: “We are delighted that our repeated requests have been heard favourably and a second flight has been arranged at a reduced price. This is a big relief to stranded Odia migrants who have been unemployed since last 4 months. Our job isn’t over though. We will continue to support the stranded Odias in the Kingdom.”
The Bahrain Odias also conveyed their deepest gratitude to the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Honourable Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Pattnaik, Civil Aviation Minister along with the Indian Embassy in Bahrain for their kind efforts to enable an additional flight at a reduced cost.
