Three soldiers and a BSF personnel were killed and 2 terrorists gunned down in Jammu and Kashmir’s Machil sector on Sunday. The operation is currently underway, officials said.
A BSF spokesperson said that the constable Sudip Kumar lost his life during the operation.
The operation began on Saturday night when security personnel stationed at Machil spotted suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) fence.
Army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that 1 terrorist has been killed in the joint operation and they have also recovered an AK rifle and two bags.
He said that the terrorists were first intercepted on November 7-November 8 night and troops had spotted the terrorists trying to infiltrate.
The operation is currently underway and more security personnel has been rushed to Machil.
