Yogi Govt takes over Hyatt, Marriott, other Lucknow 5-star hotels to lodge medical staff fighting Covid-19

The Hyatt Regency hotel in Lucknow will be converted into a quarantine zone for medical staff.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken over four five-star hotels in Lucknow to lodge doctors, medical workers and paramedic staff who are at the forefront of fighting the battle against coronavirus.

The four five-star hotels include the Hyatt Regency, Lemon Tree, The Piccadily and Fairfield by Marriott. These four hotels will be converted into quarantine zones for the medical staff who are in constant contact with the coronavirus patients.

The Lucknow administration has decided to lodge doctors, nurses and paramedic staff who are dealing with the coronavirus cases here.

Lucknow District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash has said the medical staff who are fighting the coronavirus battle are also at the risk of getting infected by the contagion.

The doctors and all other medical staff will reside at these hotels after finishing with their shifts at the coronavirus wards.

The staff of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute will be lodged at the Fairfield by Marriott. SGPGI staff will reside at Piccadily and Lemon Tree hotels.

The district administration has further notified hotels in the area to gear up for similar measures if required in the future.

Apart from Lucknow, other parts of the state has also similarly notified hotels, guest houses and government accommodations to prepare for hosting medical staff and others if required.

Uttar Pradesh has so far recorded over 65 coronavirus cases in the state.

Uttar Pradesh government has decided that people who are returning to the state from other states will be quarantined at hostels and dharamshalas instead of them reuniting with families.
