Vivo introduced the S-series only a couple of months ago with the launch of the Vivo S1. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched the Vivo S1 in India with price starting at Rs 17,990. Vivo is now working on the successor to the Vivo S1. No, it is not the Vivo S2, S3 or S4. It is the Vivo S5. This the company has confirmed via an official teaser. The Vivo S5 is teased on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The launch date of the Vivo S5 is yet to be revealed by the company.
The teaser doesn’t confirm anything apart from the name of the phone — Vivo S5. The upcoming smartphone has been subjected to several leaks in the past. The leaks revealed that the Vivo S5 will come with a diamond-shaped camera module. The predecessor Vivo S1 comes with a vertical camera module on the back panel. The Vivo S1 comes with three rear cameras. It includes 16MP + 8MP + 2MP camera setup.
The Vivo S5 leak suggested that the smartphone will come with three cameras on the back panel. The camera details are yet to be revealed. The leak also hinted that the Vivo S5 will come with a laser autofocus sensor and an LED flash alongside the three rear cameras. It also revealed that the Vivo S5 will come with a gradient finish. The Vivo S1 also comes with a gradient design. For now, no other details of the Vivo S5 are available.
The Vivo S1 is selling in India. The smartphone comes in three variants. The base model of the phone with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage comes with a price of Rs 17,990. The second model of the phone includes 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and is priced at Rs 18,990. Lastly, the third model of the Vivo S1 includes 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This one is priced at Rs 19,990. The Vivo S1 comes in two colours — Skyline Blue and Diamond Black.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Vivo S1 comes with a 6.38-inch super AMOLED screen that 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 90 per cent screen-to-body-ratio and FHD+ resolution. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P65 octa-core processor with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Vivo S1 includes a 4500mAh battery with 18W dual engine fast charging support. It runs Android 9 Pie with latest FunTouch OS on top.
