Vaishno Devi Yatra Remains Suspended for Eighth Day Amid Bad Weather

In Jammu and Kashmir, the pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji continues to remain suspended for the eighth consecutive day today owing to persistent bad weather conditions in the Trikuta Hills. Continuous rainfall and landslide threats have made the route unsafe for pilgrims, prompting authorities to keep the yatra on hold. The suspension has left Katra, the base camp of the shrine, looking deserted as devotees await resumption of the pilgrimage.

While the weather showed slight improvement at intervals, officials have reiterated that the safety of pilgrims remains their top priority. However, the restoration and clearance work is underway at multiple affected points, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. The devotees have been requested to avoid unnecessary travel towards Katra until conditions improve and official clearance is given for the safe resumption of the yatra.
