Uttar Pradesh government launches awareness campaign regarding burning of Crop remains

Uttar Pradesh government has launched an awareness campaign regarding the burning of Crop remains in many parts of the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the farmers of the state not to burn remains of their crops and instead make compost with it.

With the growing smog and deteriorating air quality in many cities of the state, the government has launched an awareness campaign for the farmers and appealing them to not to burn their crop remains popularly known as parali. Additional chief secretary agriculture Devesh Chaturvedi has instructed officials to take help of cadets of NCC, NSS and volunteers of Bharat scouts for making farmers aware about the growing pollution and the bad effects of burning the crops.

Administration is also taking action against the farmers who are burning their crop remains. The Chief Minister has instructed officials to behave properly with farmers while taking action against farmers for burning the remains which is prohibited. Meanwhile the opposition bhajan samaj party today condemned the action on farmers. BSP leader Mayawati said in a tweet that the government must first compensate the farmers and then take any action in such cases.
