US President Donald Trump says he loves India and calls himself a big fan of PM Modi

US President Donald Trump dialed US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor during an event celebrating America’s 250 years of Independence at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi yesterday.

US President described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a friend and stated that ties between the two nations had never been so close. Mr Trump said, he loves India, and even called himself a “big fan” of PM Modi. Mr Trump said, India can count on him 100 per cent. The US ambassador held his phone to a microphone for the audience to hear Trump’s remarks. The event was graced by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Ambassador Sergio Gor.

US President’s remarks came amid Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s four-day visit to India. Mr Rubio met Prime Minister Modi on Saturday, followed by his meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval yesterday.
