Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath today tendered his resignation to the Legislative Council Chairman from the post of Legislative Council member after being elected MLA from Gorakhpur. He is expected to take oath as chief minister of the state second time on March 25th.
BJP state unit has decided to invite at least two party workers from village-level centres so that they could witness the grand event in Lucknow on March 25. Talking to news persons in Lucknow yesterday BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh had said that the party wants to make the swearing-in ceremony of Yogi Adityanath a grand event and therefore two workers from each ‘Shakti Kendra’ would be invited to attend the event. The party has 27,700 ‘Shakti Kendras’ spread across Uttar Pradesh. These kendras are in fact party units at village level from where party activities are conducted. Mr. Singh said that on the day of swearing-in, special pujas would be held in temples across the state and BJP workers would carry out a special cleanliness drive and ensure that puja continued till the swearing-in ceremony was complete. Meanwhile, the Lucknow district administration is gearing up to make the event memorable.
DGP of state Mukul Goel along with ADG law and order Prashant Kumar and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi visited the venue of the oath-taking ceremony at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium and reviewed the preparations.
