Union Home Minister Amit Shah Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on 156th Birth Anniversary

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 156th birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that Mahatma Gandhi, who inspired the people of the nation to join the freedom movement and gave the core message of achieving economic and social self-reliance through Gram Swaraj and cooperation. Recalling the movements of Gandhiji, the Minister further said that he established Swadeshi and Swachhta as the core principles of Indian society. Praising his ideas of truth, non-violence, and peace, Mr Shah said these will continue to inspire humanity for eternity.

The Minister also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. In another social media post, Mr Shah said that Lal Bahadur Shastri, who established ideals of ethics and integrity in social life, led the nation from the struggles of the freedom movement to the country’s highest office.
