The 21 kg ladoo offered to Ganesha in Hyderabad, fetches a whopping amount of Rs 17.60 lakh

The famous Balapur Ganesh Laddu has been auctioned once again and this time for a whopping Rs 17.60 lakh in Hyderabad. This has been a tradition since long that on the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi, before Bappa is immersed in water, a 21 kg ladoo is offered to the Lord and then this is auctioned.

This time the ladoo was auctioned for a whopping amount and everyone wants to know who the buyer is. Who is the devotee who got the amount? The winning bid for the 21 kg laddu was made by a businessman.

The annual auction of the famous Balapur laddu of lord Ganesh, fetched a record high price of Rs 17.6 Lakh, yesterday. The auction, held on Ganesh Chaturthi, was won by a Kolan Ram Reddy who bought the laddu at Rs 17.6 Lakh.

In the beginning, the bidding for the laddu had begun at Rs 1,116 and then very fast its valuation increased to Rs 17.60 lakh within ten minutes of the starting of the auction. Everyone was taken aback.

“With the grace of god our family bagged it for the ninth time. We are very happy,” said a humble-sounding Kolan.

The 21-kg laddu was sponsored by Honey Foods from ECIL Colony. The much-desired ladoo was prepared with pure ghee and mixed with dry fruits. Not just this, the laddu was kept in a 2-kg bowl made up of pure silver in the hands of Lord Ganesha at the huge mandap.

The main procession began from Balapur with the traditional auction of ”laddu” (sweet) amid big fanfare.

The 61-feet-tall idol, the tallest in the state, was the first to begin its journey from Khairatabad, in the heart of the city. The massive idol took more than four hours to cover a distance of 1.5 km.

Huge cranes were deployed for immersion of the tallest idol named ”Dwadashaditya” with 12 heads and 24 hands and adorned with 12 snakes.

Officials said immersion was taking place at 50 places in and around Hyderabad. Authorities have deployed over 200 cranes, majority of them at Hussain Sagar.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has deployed over 11,000 sanitation workers. It formed 194 action teams of sanitation workers, each deployed at every three km along the 391 km procession route (all processions from different points).
