Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has given his nod for the state bill to provide 7.5 per cent reservation for government school students in medical admission.

A release from the Raj Bhavan in Chennai says the legal opinion from the Solicitor General was received yesterday. Based on it, the Governor has given his assent to the bill.  The State Government earlier passed an order yesterday to implement the reservation. The horizontal reservation will be made applicable for the state quota undergraduate medical seats in the government and private colleges.
